Hello everyone, my name is Avril, and over the last six months, I have been taking an English Course at a grade twelve level. That has been both eventful and satisfyingly rewarding. I started the course with one goal in mind, and that was to obtain a high grade for admission into a university. Since then, my perspective and understanding of English as a course has changed. I now see things from a different viewpoint for I’ve developed skills both as a writer and as a media text creator.

I’ll start with my writing skills. I’ve observed that I am now able to adequately express myself both verbally and non-verbally in a precise and concise voice(it’s still a work in progress, but I have seen significant improvements). I have seen significant improvements with my writing, and understanding that your audience is , and creating a text is dependent on the type of audience you are trying to reach. Writing in a specific style to capture your targeted audience has also been a skill I have developed. As a media text creator, I am now able to analyze text through different perspectives and communicate using different mediums, whether it be through a blog post or podcast. I’ve also developed the skill to deliver constructive criticism without sounding harsh effectively.

With all the plans I’ve listed above, I’m very nervous about the execution. I am anticipating little to no hiccups along the way, but nothing in life comes easy, so I’m sure there will be a few challenges along the way. At times when I’m writing, I draw blanks as aim sure we all do. In addition to that, I struggle with expressing myself at times, I’ll know what I want to say but getting it on paper proves at a challenge, when that occurs I step back to regroup and that usually helps with my thought process.
These acquired skills will play an integral role in my future projects and research, including essays and throughout life in general.
